The Boob-a-rang was created by Dr. Michael Pasquale, a board certified plastic surgeon practicing in Honolulu Hawaii. He has been performing breast augmentation and other plastic surgery procedures for well over 20 years. He comes from a background of facial nerve surgery and micro hand reconstruction.
Dr. Pasquale was beginning to establish himself as a well-rounded plastic surgeon in Honolulu and gaining much needed proficiency in the many surgical approaches to breast augmentation. While there are many plastic surgeons that perform breast augmentation, few are really comfortable at performing this procedure from all surgical incision sites. Most surgeons prefer one approach over the others and tend to force their patients into this surgery. Axillary breast augmentation was a surgery that many plastic surgeons were probably the least comfortable performing. The surgery was typically done using a cumbersome scope with a video screen making the formation of a pocket very tedious and prone to bleeding. Some surgeons would employ secondary dissectors that greatly increased the risk of bleeding or a pneumothorax.
There was a need for a specialized instrument that minimized these risks, reduced surgery time, and lessened the dependance on expensive temperamental equipment. It was out of this need that Dr. Pasquale created and perfected the Boob-a-Rang. This instrument addresses all of the problems and allowed for Dr. Pasquale to become a leading expert in axillary breast augmentation. He is currently one of the few plastic surgeons in the world who can perform silicone breast augmentation through the axillary incision. Dr. Pasquale travels extensively demonstrating and instructing on the usage of the Boob-A-Rang instrument for both breast augmentation and buttock implants.
